The Hart High School swim season is off to an exciting start!
We started off with some early dual meet wins during the pre-season. Our varsity boys & girls were both undefeated against Westlake, Loyola and Crescenta Valley High Schools. In addition, the varsity girls reclaimed their title at the CIF Southern Section Relays (sponsored by Millikan HS). Great job girls!
Since our pre-season success and with two league meets under our belts, the boys & girls JV & Varsity teams are undefeated in the Foothill League. The up-coming SCV Relay Meet, Friday April 17th, will help to galvanize school spirit and focus our swimmers for the up-coming League Finals. Hart hopes to have a four-way sweep of the event like we did 2 years ago. Whatever the outcome, the competition will be exciting and the races fun to watch.
On Wednesday, April 22nd the Hart girls will have a challenging dual meet contest against Canyon High School. Come out and cheer! In addition, all our seniors will be honored in the last dual meet of the season against Saugus High School at the Aquatics Center on Wednesday, April 29th.
The always-exciting Royal Invitational will be held Saturday, April 25th. Although not a mandatory meet, all swimmers who want to preview their league races or want another shot at a CIF qualifying time are urged to attend. It will also serve as an end-of-the-year meet for those swimmers not on the limited roster for finals.
After the League Finals May 5th & 7th, all energy will be focused on CIF Championships. Hart, along with the other 5 area high schools, will be competing for the CIF Division I title this year. We're hopeful our move from Division II to Division I will be a successful one. We are looking forward to the challenge of competing against Southern California's finest swimmers.
