DMET welcomes Coach Eure as its new head coach, replacing Greg Naumann who left DMET to take a coaching position at Truman State University. Coach Eure, well known in the swimming community as a stroke technician, brings a wealth of experience to our team. Currently, Coach Eure also is the head coach for the girls and boys high school swim teams at Pleasant Valley High School in Pleasant Valley, Iowa, formerly was the head coach of the women and men swim teams at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, and formerly coached a number of other teams before joining DMET.

Coach Eure earned a Bachelor’s degree at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, and a Master’s degree in Physical Education-Sports Management at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. As a swimmer at St. John’s University, Eure was a Division III college All-American.

Assistant Coach

Mary Collins

Coach Collins has been a coach for DMET for many years. During the summer, she teaches swim lessons at her home pool and is a great source of new swimmers to our team. Coach Collins works primarily with our beginner swimmers on proper stroke technique.

Assistant Coach

Lauren Gehbauer

Coach Gehbauer joined DMET in April 2008. She is a former area age group swimmer and swam collegiately at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. Currently, she is working on her Master’s degree in business administration at St. Ambrose University in Davenport. Coach Gehbauer works primarily with our intermediate and advanced swimmers.

Josh Hopewell

Coach Hopewell has joined DMET as a new assistant coach for the Fall/Winter 2008-9 season.
